Planning a gathering or event just got easier for iPhone users. Apple released its new Invites app on February 4, 2025. The app helps create digital invitations and manage events all in one place.

Want to plan an event? Open the app, pick a background image, add the details, and share it with friends. The app automatically adds helpful information like weather forecasts for your event day. It even provides directions for guests through Apple Maps.

“With Apple Invites, an event comes to life from the moment the invitation is created,” says Brent Chiu-Watson, Apple’s senior director of Worldwide Product Marketing for Apps and iCloud. “Users can share lasting memories even after they get together.”

The app costs nothing to download. However, you need an iCloud+ subscription (starting at $0.99) to create invitations. Anyone can respond to invites – even if they don’t own an iPhone.

The app brings everything together in one place. Create a shared photo album where guests upload pictures. Create a collaborative event soundtrack with Apple Music. Track who’s coming with simple RSVP management.

For newer iPhone users (models 15 Pro and up, running iOS 18.2), the app offers AI features. These help create unique invitation images and suggest text for event descriptions.

Android users can join too, but with some limits. They access invites through iCloud.com, needing to enter their email address and a verification code. They’ll see event details and can RSVP, but need an Apple account to view shared photo albums.

Privacy matters in event planning. Hosts control who can invite others. Guests choose how their information appears. Anyone can leave or report an event if needed.

The app works on iPhones running iOS 18 or newer. Some features vary by country and language settings. It competes with existing services like Evite, offering a new option for digital invitations.
