Elon Musk is launching a new artificial intelligence tool called Grok 3 that he says can solve problems in unexpected ways. The launch is happening tonight at 8:30 PM Pacific Time.
“Grok 3 comes up with solutions that you wouldn’t even anticipate,” Musk said at the Dubai World Government Summit. He explained that Grok 3 works with synthetic data and can identify and correct mistakes in its training. “In fact, at times, I think Grok 3 is kind of scary smart,” Musk added.
The technology uses what experts call “synthetic data” for training. Musk explained how it works: “Grok 3 was trained on a lot of synthetic data and then it goes back and forth through the data and tries to achieve logical consistency. If it’s got data that is wrong, it will actually reflect upon that and remove the data that does not concord with reality.”

This launch comes at a time when AI tools are becoming more competitive in the market. A Chinese company called DeepSeek has created cost-efficient AI models that have quickly overtaken ChatGPT in downloads. Their success shows the growing demand for accessible AI technology.
Behind the scenes, there’s some competition happening. Musk recently tried to buy part of OpenAI, another AI company he helped start, for $97.4 billion. OpenAI said no to his offer. “OpenAI is meant to be open source, non profit and now they changed the name to closed for maximum profit AI,” Musk said, explaining his concerns about the company’s direction.

The real test will come during tonight’s live demonstration, where people can see what Grok 3 can actually do. Musk has been working with his team at xAI over the weekend making final adjustments to ensure everything works properly.
While Musk calls Grok 3 the “smartest AI on Earth,” noting that “in the tests that we have done thus far, Grok 3 is outperforming anything that’s been released that we are aware of,” we’ll need to wait for the demonstration to see exactly what it can do. The key questions remain: How will it compare to existing AI models? Will its self-correction feature lead to more accurate results? And most importantly, how might its “powerful reasoning capabilities” translate to real applications?
What makes this launch significant is its potential impact on AI development. If Grok 3 can really demonstrate the capabilities Musk describes, with its synthetic data training and self-correction features, it could represent a new approach to AI technology.
The development of more sophisticated AI tools like Grok 3 could logically lead to improvements in how computers process and analyze information. With its focus on logical consistency and error correction, this technology might offer new ways to tackle complex problems.
Musk says Grok 3 is “outperforming anything that’s been released that we are aware of.” The live demonstration tonight will give everyone a chance to see these claims put to the test.
