Google’s newest artificial intelligence service comes with a hefty price tag of $249.99 per month, positioning itself as a premium option for professionals who need advanced AI capabilities. The new “Google AI Ultra” subscription launched Tuesday at Google’s I/O 2025 conference, offering subscribers access to Google’s most powerful AI tools along with 30 terabytes of storage and YouTube Premium.
“You can think of this Ultra plan as your VIP pass for Google AI,” explains Josh Woodward, who leads Google Labs and the Gemini app.
The service targets filmmakers, developers, and creative professionals who require extensive AI capabilities. New subscribers can try the service at half price for the first three months, making it $125 monthly during that period.
What’s included in the package? Subscribers get access to Gemini, with features like Deep Research for analyzing large amounts of information. The service includes Flow, a new AI tool that helps create videos, and Whisk, which turns images into short videos. These tools work directly within popular Google services like Gmail, Google Docs, and Chrome browser.
A notable feature is Project Mariner, an agentic research prototype that can handle up to 10 tasks simultaneously from a single dashboard. The 30 terabytes of storage works across Google Photos, Drive, and Gmail, providing ample space for large files and projects.
The price point puts Google’s service above similar premium AI offerings. OpenAI’s ChatGPT Pro costs $200 monthly, while Anthropic’s Claude Max starts at $100 monthly.
