Adobe has launched its Firefly mobile app for iOS and Android, bringing AI creative tools directly to smartphones. Users can now create images and videos while on the bus, waiting in line, or anywhere inspiration strikes.
The new app is easy to use. You type what you want to create, and the app makes it for you. For example, if you need a picture of a mountain landscape for a presentation, you can type that description and get several options in seconds.
“Our goal with Firefly is to deliver creators the most comprehensive destination on web and mobile to access the best generative models,” says Adobe’s Chief Technology Officer Ely Greenfield.
The app includes several useful features. Text to Image turns your words into pictures. Text to Video creates short videos from descriptions. Image to Video makes your still photos move. You can also remove unwanted objects from photos or expand image boundaries with Generative Fill and Generative Expand.
What makes this app especially helpful is how it works with other Adobe programs. Start a project on your phone during lunch break, and it automatically saves to your Adobe account. When you get back to your computer, you can continue working on the same project in Photoshop or Premiere Pro without starting over.
For small business owners, this means creating social media content anywhere. A restaurant owner could quickly generate images for daily specials. A realtor could enhance property photos on-site before posting them. Designers can capture ideas immediately rather than trying to remember them later.

The app offers more design options than just Adobe’s own models. It works with AI models from Google, OpenAI, and others. This gives users different artistic styles to choose from without downloading multiple apps.
Adobe focuses on keeping its AI safe for commercial use. They train their models on content they have legal rights to use. This means businesses can use the images without worrying about copyright issues. Each creation includes information about which AI models helped make it.
For teams working together, Firefly Boards helps with brainstorming. Different team members can add ideas to the same project, even if they’re not in the same location. This makes planning marketing campaigns or design projects much easier.
The app comes with different payment options. There’s a free version with limited features. The Firefly Standard plan costs $9.99 monthly and gives you 2,000 credits (enough for hundreds of images). If you already pay for Adobe Creative Cloud, you get 4,000 monthly credits included.
Adobe reports that users have created over 24 billion images and videos using Firefly tools. The number of people using Firefly grew by 30% in the last three months, showing its popularity.
For everyday users, the Firefly mobile app means easy access to professional-level design tools. Parents can make custom birthday invitations. Students can create unique images for school projects. Social media enthusiasts can stand out with original content rather than using the same filters everyone else uses.
The Firefly mobile app is available now on both the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. You can download it as a standalone app or get it as part of your existing Adobe subscription.
